Hypnosis is a state of focused concentration, usually accompanied by deep relaxation, in which your mind is more receptive to ideas – ideas that you want it to be receptive to. You decide what is to get all of your attention. Hypnosis helps you concentrate on it to the exclusion of everything else until you make it a reality in your mind. There is an old saying that “Anything your mind can conceive and believe, you can achieve.” The trick is believing it. That’s where hypnosis comes in – to help you believe it – to lock it into your subconscious mind directly, bypassing your everyday conscious critical judgment and interference.
Hypnosis won’t make you into something or someone you aren’t, but it will help something that’s already there to be realized. Hypnosis works at freeing you up to use more of the potential you already have.
Imagination is the key. Napoleon said, “Imagination rules the world.” Einstein said, “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of coming attractions.” And the degree to which you can vividly imagine something, the greater impact it will have on you. The greater your concentration, the more vivid your imagination. You have optimum concentration when you are deeply relaxed; that is when you have the greatest amount of mental focus available. It has been proven scientifically that visualization of goals with words, pictures, and emotions in a deeply relaxed state make their achievement rapid, permanent, and potentially effortless.
